Psychologists Say Coloring Is The Best Alternative To Meditation

Alright, who doesn’t look fondly back on their childhood, those times when the most we had to worry about was which colors looked the best in the pictures we drew.

Well as it turns out, continuing to color in your adulthood is now believed to help relieve stress and anxiety, on top of getting your creativity flowing. That makes it no surprise that out of Amazon’s 20 best sellers, 6 of them are adult coloring books!

There’s been widespread support for the activity among psychologists such as Ben Michaelis, who stated that,

“Carl Jung used to try to get his patients to color in mandalas at the turn of the last century, as a way of getting people to focus on the subconscious to let go. Now we know it has a lot of other stress busting qualities as well.”

According to another psychologist named Antoni Martinez:

“I recommend it as a relaxation technique. We can use it to enter a more creative, freer state. I recommend it in a quiet environment, even with chill music. Let the color and lines flow.”

Maybe its time to pick up a coloring book and get to work! Itll make that rough day of work a thing of the past.
